Why the name changed

The working name was Aperture Text. Existing font families already use Aperture:

• Aperture Display by Mi Chen.
• Aperture by font.design, with text and display cuts.

These uses make the working name hard to distinguish from existing fonts.

Talven Text search

General web searches and searches targeted at MyFonts, Google Fonts, Fontspring, and Fontshare returned no exact Talven font-family match. The queries covered the base name as well as the full family name.

Talven has existing non-font uses, including Finnish word use. An unrelated clinic software project also uses Talven. This record does not claim that the word is unique.

This was a preliminary public-name search. Search results do not prove that a name is unused, and this was not trademark clearance.

Rename scope

Release 0.101 changes the family name to Talven Text, the font filename prefix to TalvenText, and the project folder to talven-text. The website, font metadata, editable sources, and download packages use the new name. Font outlines and spacing do not change.
